Your Gym Content Is Scaring Away Clients — Here's the Fix

Serious about turning your personal training hustle into a legit business and brand? Then let's talk, because some of you are out here sabotaging your own business and calling it content.

Start with the gym videos. You're deadlifting three times your body weight, veins popping, grunting like you're constipated — and you think that's going to make someone say "hey, can you train me?" It won't. You don't look approachable, you look scary. Soften it. You don't have to smile 24/7, but a welcoming demeanor goes a long way when your entire business depends on people feeling comfortable enough to approach you.

Your content should attract clients, not intimidate them. The average person scrolling your page is already insecure about going to the gym. When they see you looking like you're trying to summon a demon between sets, they don't feel inspired. They feel unqualified to even be in the same building as you.

Here's what actually works. Show your sessions — coaching a client, correcting their form, hyping them up, celebrating their wins. Show the breakthroughs, the transformations, the process. Let people see your personality, your coaching style, your energy. Create content that makes your audience feel capable, not inferior. Be the coach on screen, not just the athlete. That's what sells you, not how much you can squat.

Now, the outfit. That oversized muscle vest with your nipples out living their best life? Not a good look for your business, unless you're selling vests. And those vests aren't even functional — they're vanity, pure and simple. Your muscles are literally cooling down between sets, and cold muscles are less responsive and more prone to injury. You're not just hurting your brand, you're hurting your performance too. Science said that, not me.

"Wear your brand instead. A fitted t-shirt, a compression top, a hoodie with your logo. Every video you post is a walking advertisement, so why are you advertising your nipples instead of your business?"

At the end of the day, people hire you because they believe you can help them. Your physique is your portfolio. Your content, and how you carry yourself, is your sales pitch. Fix these, and watch your engagement and your client list grow.
